Every trim of the new Subaru WRX is powered by the same 2.4-liter DOHC turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine — 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque with peak torque available from just 2,000 rpm. That wide powerband means immediate, usable thrust whether you're merging onto I-70 or climbing a Colorado mountain pass. The Premium, Limited, and TS trims pair this engine with a fully synchronized 6-speed manual transmission. The GT opts for Subaru's Performance Transmission with Drive Mode Select and SI-DRIVE® engine management, giving you on-the-fly tuning between Intelligent and Sport modes. All trims require premium unleaded fuel (91 octane or higher) and deliver up to 26 MPG highway on the manual.

Performance

The new Subaru WRX is engineered from the ground up to perform. Standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with Active Torque Vectoring delivers continuous traction and sharper cornering response — not an optional upgrade, but a foundation every WRX is built on. Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) and a sport-tuned 4-wheel independent suspension keep the car planted and predictable. Step into the GT and you get Variable Torque Distribution AWD and electronically controlled dampers that adapt in real time to road conditions. Exterior

The 2026 WRX wears its performance intentions clearly. Every trim ships with LED headlights, LED fog lights, front and rear underspoilers, a rear bumper with integrated diffuser, trunk spoiler, and a quad stainless-steel exhaust outlet. The Premium runs 18x8.5-inch dark gray aluminum-alloy wheels while the Limited and GT switch to a black finish. The TS steps up to 19x8.5-inch satin gray wheels on lower-profile 245/35 R19 summer tires. Limited, GT, and TS trims add Steering Responsive Headlights and a power-tilt moonroof — practical and purposeful upgrades that matter at elevation. All trims include heated side mirrors, and an All-Weather Package with windshield wiper de-icer and heated front seats is available on every trim.

Interior Design

Inside, the new Subaru WRX is built around the driver. The Premium starts with performance-design front seats, cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, and aluminum-alloy pedal covers. The Limited adds Ultrasuede®- and leather-trimmed upholstery and a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat. Both the GT and TS step up to Recaro® performance-design front seats, an Ultrasuede® and leather interior, and a sport-design 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster.
