The configuration of the SUBARU BOXER Engine allows for it to be mounted lower and more centered in the vehicle, for better weight distribution and a lower center of gravity. This means flatter cornering and an increased ability to handle those winding I-70 roads with speed, safety, and comfort. The opposing motion of the pistons also balances out the vibrations, ensuring less engine shudder and a smoother ride. The BOXER engine, however, does sit forward of the axles, meaning if you want serious off-road ability in your Subaru, you may wish to consider a Subaru Outback lift kit, Forester lift kit or Crosstrek lift kit.
